Galleon Drive, a name reminiscent of the swashbuckling pirates who staked claim to Florida's past, and other names like Treasure Cove, Runaway Bay, Man o´ War Cove and Morgan's Cove, are actually lush Banyan-lined lanes that meander on fingers of land jutting into Naples Bay, forming the waterfront neighborhood of Port Royal in Naples, Florida.

Throughout the home are furnishings with taste and flair, carefully selected by Patty Gomez. She plans and decorates her houses (the five she has done before and the two she is currently planning)

with the help of interior designer friends like George Hizny and Judith Liegeoris, who was instrumental in helping with this home. The details make for good design, like the eight-foot high doors with long, elegant brass hinges and the curved staircase and kitchen cabinets that were made of maple that had been flogged with chains to a special weathered appearance.

The study is an exquisite room, well proportioned and rich in materials and color; oak floors are stained dark maple, a dado of the same material, a heavily-coffered ceiling and

striped wallpaper - or at least you think so until on closer examination you recognize faux paintvertical multicolored stripes, painted, as many other walls in the house, by local Naples artist Richard Ainsworth. One wall is filled with paneled bookshelves and a concealed computer fronted by an elegant desk. A comfortable sofa and easy chairs complete the room's furnishings and the gracefully bowed window wall is draped with rich fabrics.
